Before McTighe was a landscaping company, it was a masonry company. Pat McTighe laid the brick. His son Jeff started in concrete and brickwork, then took up landscape design in the early '80s and never put either trade down. That is why our patios sit flat a decade later and our walls don't lean.
Most projects die in the handoff: a concrete sub who never talks to the plant crew, a designer who has never poured a footing. Jeff holds both licenses, C-8 concrete and C-27 landscaping, so the patio, the walls, the irrigation and the planting come from one plan and one crew.
The photos get taken the week we wrap. The yard gets used for the next twenty years. We build for that second part: dinners that drift outside, a lawn that holds up to kids and dogs, and the space one client called "the envy of the neighborhood."

Stone and concrete kitchens built for actual cooking: grill islands, counters, bars and fire features that turn the patio into the favorite room.
Retaining walls, garden walls, steps and structural concrete under our own C-8 license. The slope gets tamed and it stays tamed.
